by the same logic, if you mail a letter, and, in the course of it's travels, moves from usps vehicles to a private third party for transport, this "'private' information is actually being held by third-party private companies", and could therefore be subject to inspection without court order

there's been persistant talk of privatizing the post office*, should the transport of mail from box to box be in private hands, does the abilty to search widen as well ??
